Behind the Scenes...
With Season Three programs airing now, we thought you might enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the filming. We film Knit and Crochet Now at the studios of Detroit Public TV, WTVS. We love the staff and love their brand new production facility. We filmed the 13 episodes for Season Three in just four loooong days. Most of us arrived at the Detroit airport Sunday evening. Considering our many different starting points, it was amazing that we all managed to arrive within about an hour of each other.

Monday morning we arrived at the studio to find the set half-built. The staff worked furiously to finish it so we could rehearse in the afternoon while the cast began organizing the projects for each segment backstage so we could begin shooting promptly Tuesday morning. That’s host Brett Bara checking out the work table.
Ready to go Tuesday morning! Throughout the week two events were recurring: sound checks and last minute reviews. That’s Fred, our stage manager, checking guest expert Myra Wood's microphone at the same time Brett and Myra review all the techniques and important points to be covered in the segment.
While all the glamour is on camera, most of us were in the unglamorous backstage area.

After three intense days of filming, all 13 episodes were in the can. Just 24 hours later, there was no evidence of our recent filming and we were all winging our way home.
Our sets and props are stored away waiting for our return. With your support and the support of our underwriters, we will soon be unpacking them again.
